【編集後記】今という時代
記事の中でFBIの特別捜査官のひとりが次のように述べていました。
“When I first joined the FBI, it was quite a big deal for an agent to travel from New York to Los Angeles.Now it’s routine for an agent in New York to travel halfway across the world.”
これはFBIに限ったことではないでしょう。
現代は、普通のビジネスマンでも、世界の様々な地域で仕事をする機会が増えています。
結果として、コミュニケーションや情報収集のための語学力は、必須のスキルになりつつあります。
英語は、事実上「世界共通語」の最有力候補ですから、学ぶ意味は大きいのではないでしょうか。
